Tauranga Cricket Wicket Maintenance Contract

Recreational Services win Tauranga Cricket Wicket Maintenance Contract

The Tauranga city council decided in 2015 that they would put out to tender their club artificial and grass cricket blocks maintenance and management contract. There was strong interest in this contract with the opportunity to be involved in the game of cricket that is growing in numbers with the population growth in Tauranga. RS relished the opportunity to write a tender that could show where we could work alongside not only council, but the local clubs and the association themselves to deliver quality pitches week to week. It was a rigorous tender process with a shortlist of 3 contractors but Recreational Services attributes showed through and we were awarded with a 3 year contract.

With Recreational Services already maintaining the sports parks for Tauranga city council, this is a great addition for the team and one that we will look to continue to raise the standard of over the coming years. With 2019 being the year when many council contracts are up for renewal, RS will be looking to cement the cricket blocks contract and look to make it an easy decision to amalgamate the cricket and sports parks contract together.
