Recreational Services was awarded the parks and open-space maintenance contract for Hastings District Council—Te Kaunihera ā-Rohe o Heretaunga—on 1st February 2019.
Our team is dedicated to helping keep this very special part of New Zealand worthy of its past awards, including taking out the title of Most Beautiful Small City twice, as well as winning three Green Flag awards for Flaxmere Park, Havelock North Village Green and Cornwall Park.
Services We Provide
Full facilities contract including reserve maintenance, horticulture, arboriculture, parks furniture, litter control, public toilets, toilets, sports grounds, and building and events management services.
Made up of three main urban areas—Havelock North, Hastings and Flaxmere— along with a number of smaller rural and beachside urban areas, the Hastings District encompasses a large land area within which our team has responsibility for 173 sites, consisting of 328 hectares of parks, three cemeteries, 68 toilet blocks, 42 playgrounds, 20 sports grounds, 1,441 park assets and furniture and 391 litter bins, along with the maintenance of some 35,000 trees.
