Are you an outdoors lover with a knack for cultivating great relationships? Masterton District Council are looking for someone to oversee major contracts within Masterton District Council’s Community Facilities and Activities department, including working with Recreational Services. It means ensuring contracts meet intended outcomes and developing strong working relationships across our key facilities including Mawley Park and the Trust House Recreation Centre. You’ll also become the first port of call for contractors responsible for maintenance across all our parks and open spaces.
If you are:
- Comfortable taking ownership of contract management, including all the financial elements such as understanding budgets and financial targets
- Outcomes-focussed and can keep your ‘eye on the prize’
- Adept at stakeholder and relationship management
- And, of course, love recreation
Then the Masteron District Council want to hear from you!
The successful applicant will be joining the Community Facilities and Activities team, reporting to the Manager of Community Facilities and Activities.
You will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. You will also have relationship-building experience at a senior level, contract management, financial management, report writing and project management skills.
This is a unique opportunity to join Masterton District Council and become part of a motivated, professional and customer-focused team. Our people play an integral role in delivering services for our community. We are focused on both ‘what’ we need to achieve, and ‘how’ we achieve our goals. Our values help us build a workplace culture that is challenging but fun, because enjoying work is important! We want to be the best provincial Council in New Zealand – come join us!
If you have a passion for the Masterton community and have the skills and experience we are looking for, we would love to hear from you. You can contact Vicki McLachlan, People and Capability Manager, for a confidential chat on 06 370 6267.
