Recreational Services began working with Tauranga City Council on 1st July 2011 after winning the contract to look after the city’s sports parks. This was Recreational Services' first contract in the Bay of Plenty, which provided a fresh start for the company in the area.

Since then further contracts have been added, including Papamoa College, ACG School, and Bay Park Stadium's ground maintenance. We have built up a large clientele of schools, carrying out seasonal turf renovation work as and where needed. Baypark Stadium is another site we help with renovation work to the stadium field following various events it hosts, including Baypark Speedway and the ENZED V8 Jetsprints jet-boat races.

Tauranga is fast becoming a busy and vibrant city, with a population that’s growing much quicker than initially expected. It is now the fastest-growing city in New Zealand and has a population of 158,000, making it now the fifth-largest city in the country.

Covering an area of 13,440 hectares, Tauranga City extends from Bethlehem in the north, to the new growth areas of Tauriko, Pyes Pa, and Ohauiti in the west, and across to Papamoa in the East. The transformation and rapid growth of Papamoa over the past 10 years, has been incredible.

The landscape is dominated by the volcanic cone of Mauao (Mount Maunganui), the harbour, long white beaches, and the Kaimai Range to the west.
